Already growing fast!

Is this not the cutest face ever! Such tiny ears and closed eyes. Puppies can't open their eyes until they are about 2 weeks old and they are deaf until a few days after that. Right now they are navigating their world primarily through their sense of smell. Their noses work well from the moment they are born. This allows them to happily sniff their way to the milk bar!

Every morning and evening every puppy is weighed so that we can make sure that everyone is gaining weight and growing like they should. Each pup should double its birth weight in seven to ten days. Their mommas are providing lots of nutritious milk and the pups are growing like they should. To keep up with the demand the mommas are eating 4 meals a day of kibble with broth, meat, extra vitamins, and omega 3s added.
