Big Changes

Holi's adorable crew is two weeks old today! Over the last couple of days they have started toddling about the whelping box as they developed control over their legs. And their eyes have opened, helping them navigate their environment and exponentially increasing their cuteness!

The whelping box has also gotten a makeover. With the pups now being mobile they are ready for their first introduction to potty training. This begins by dividing their living space into distinct "sleep/play" and "potty" areas. The pups instinctively want to keep their nest clean so at this age they begin toddling away from their bed to relieve themselves. As they associate the litter box with 'potty' we are able to increase their living space without increasing the mess! (Note- in the photo the litter has not been added to the litter box yet).

The puppies also got their first collars today! They are now easier to identify, especially in photos (prior to this they had little color dots of paint at the base of their tails but these were hard to see in photos).
