Early learning experiences

While the puppies are still spending the majority of their time sleeping, we are able to work in some more activities for them in their wakeful times. They are continuing to work on their potty training (this will continue throughout their time here) and some of the pups are really starting to get the hang of it- and some of the pups think the litter box makes a cozy bed- so it's definitely still a work in progress. And that is completely normal as the pups are still moving so slow that heading towards the litter box is a win even if they don't make it in time.

Everyday the puppies get a new experience. This allows them to learn and gain confidence without being overwhelmed or exhausted. The puppies are also not able developmentally to experience real fear yet so it is an ideal time to let them learn and discover. Today's new experience was getting out of the whelping box to toddle around exploring a yoga mat. Yesterday was an introduction to a hair dryer- having no fear of this handy device will really help on grooming days!
